Green philosophy The pride of the hotel is empowering the local youth, the Kandalama Heritance trained and recruited local employable age youth from the Kandalama village and neighbouring communities. All new employees are given an orientation on sustainable practices. Voluntary service on social and environmental projects gives a good exposure to the staff members and the employees naturally embrace these initiatives. Staff members at Heritance Kandalama have all excepted social and environmental activities as part of their culture. The staff is also given opportunities to enhance their talents and skills in various fields such as language improvement and communication development activities. The Heritance Kandalama Welfare Society engages in staff and their families’ welfare activities. |

Staff village Hotel staff village provides accommodation to staff travelling from distant villages. They are provided with meals, uniforms, laundry facilities and health recreation facilities free of charge. Through this, the staff is able to save substantial amount of money, they do not have to travel daily to the hotel from their homes. It is also good for the environment as less carbon is emitted due to reduced transportation. |
